TF System®- The Vertical ICF

ProBuild Systems is the area distributor for TF System®

Insulated Concrete Forms(ICF's) are a stay in place forming product that serve as a functional part of the wall after concrete is poured.  TF System® consists of two main components:  1) high-density polystyrene panels and 2) studs made of either galvanized steel or recycled PVC.  On site, these components are erected as vertical concrete wall forms.  When filled with concrete, they form solid, energy efficient walls to create a high performance structure.  TF System® is used to construct frost walls, basements, and above grade walls in both residential & commercialc construction.  Please contact us to learn more or to see a demonstration.

TF SYSTEM® IS THE VERTICALLY ORIENTED INSULATED CONCRETE FORM (ICF).

ICF installationTF System® utilizes a PVC or steel framework and high-density polystyrene panels to construct an integrally strong concrete form.  After concrete is poured into the wall form, the TF System® materials remain in place to insulate and stud the walls, allowing for easy attachment of interior and exterior finishes.  The finished wall combines the strength of concrete with the outstanding insulation properties of high-density polystyrene to create a secure and comfortable structure. Using TF System® insulated concrete forms is an economical and efficient building method for both above and below grade construction.

Homeowner Benefits

Below Grade Benefits

Strong
concrete form installConcrete
The insulation stays in place during the curing process resulting in ideal curing conditions.  TF System's® insulated concrete walls can be as much as 50% stronger than conventional poured walls.

Framework
During concrete placement TF System's® strong, vertical framework will keep your walls straighter and at the exact height you desire, eliminating the bowing, compression, and/or expansion that commonly occurs with ordinary ICFs.

Attachment
After construction the same framework provides strong, predictable attachment points for hanging drywall, exterior finishes, fixtures, cabinets, and decor.

Comfortable
concrete homeTF System's® heavily insulated concrete walls tend to maintain a consistent temperature year round, making them feel warm to the touch in the winter and cool in the summer.

Versatile
concrete forms Special designs, such as curved and elliptical walls, are easily formed.  Components can be ordered in custom heights, custom angles, and varying widths to accommodate practically any design.

Cost Competitive
TF System® components form the walls, provide insulation, create a vapor barrier, and serve as attachment points--all in one easy step.

Dry
TF System® walls naturally wick moisture away from basement living space.  This property helps to eliminate condensation and mold that is typical in an old-fashioned block or conventional poured basement.

Above Grade Benefits
concrete home

Energy Efficient
Combine the thermal mass of concrete and the insulation value of high-density polystyrene with airtight construction and you will have a home that uses 25-40% less energy than stick frame construction.

Quiet
TF System's® high-density wall characteristics create a sound reduction rating of 55 decibels; this makes for a very quiet home environment.

Durable
When building your home, high quality materials are important.  TF System® requires no maintenance, and because it replaces dimensional lumber, you need not worry about warping, twisting, shrinking, cracking, or dry rot.

Air Tight
concrete homeMonolithic concrete walls eliminate the gaps and air leaks found in ordinary construction methods.  A concrete home will maintain your comfortable indoor atmosphere and help keep out allergy irritants such as pollen and dust.

Long Lasting
TF System® concrete homes are a solid investment.  Built to last, they continue to offer low life cycle costs, including lower utility bills, reduced insurance premiums, and higher resale value. Your home will provide security and comfort for generations.

KEEP YOUR FAMILY SAFE & HEALTHY!

Security
concrete home
High winds from severe weather, including hurricanes and tornadoes, greatly threaten conventional construction methods using standard materials.  TF System® homes use the strongest construction materials available, the same materials used in storm shelters and safe rooms.  Withstanding severe weather conditions protects you and your family.

Fire Resistant
TF System® insulated concrete homes provide maximum protection from fires.  The materials used in a TF System® home resist fire to a much greater degree than a wood frame home.  This reduces the risk of harm to your family and home, continually providing peace of mind.

Pest Barrier

Contractor Benefits

Easy to Learn
Contractors prefer working with TF System® because its vertical orientation is based on conventional concrete forming methods.  The stud design is similar to conventional framing, helping crews quickly adapt to building with it.

Wall Accessibility
TF System® is the only ICF that allows access to the inside of the wall cavity.  Panels may be raised to install rebar or enable building inspectors to view reinforcing.

Increased Safety
TF System® can be assembled while standing at the ground or floor level.  No climbing up & down to install blocks or crossties.

Fewer Splice Cuts
No staggering joints or lining up special notches or ties before cutting pieces.  Less waste. No cutting through wires, metal, or plastic.

Efficient Installation
No 2x4's nailed to footing.  No uprights every 4 to 8 feet.  No multiple walers.  No ladder bracing at top.  No glueing.  No Taping.  No Tying.

Forming with Integral Strength
The vertical orientation makes it easier to keep walls straight during & after concrete placement.  No vertical bowing.  No floating parts.  No settling.

Install One Side at a Time
Because of the unique open design, reinforcement schedules are simple to install & tie in the desired pattern.  Workers can install all the rebar at once, avoiding costly on site delays.

Adjustable Brick Ledge
TF System® has various methods for providing brick, stone, or floor ledges.  The tilt-out panels can be placed at any height desired & at varying heights, to accomodate an change in grade.

Concrete Consolidation
TF System® was engineered to allow for internal concrete consolidation.
